Types of improper alarms

False alarm - an instance of alarm that, after responding, it turns out that there is no actual hazard associated with the alarm

Irrelevant alarms  - an alarm applicable to a different mode or state

Misleading alarm -  is an alarm that guides the operators to take a wrong action

Distracting alarm - an alarm that distracts the operators from the most prominent risks

Nuisance alarm -  an instance of repeated warning about an actual hazard, of which the operators are already aware

Ignorable alarm - an alarm that the operators may disregard.
