False alarms

Definition

A false alarm is an instance of alarm that, after responding, it turns out that there is no actual hazard associated with the alarm.

Overriding the default alarming

Sometimes, the alarm signal might shift across the threshold, invoking false alarms.

Sometimes, the operators can identify situations of high likelihood of false alarms.

The operator should always have the option to override the automatic alarms.
