A state control unit is a module of the exception handler, used to continuously compress the measurements received from sensors, and convert them to states, based on scenario information
If the active state has changed, then an event is generated
Measurements received from the sensors and the operators' stations.
The unit transforms the measurements to an active state, based on the thresholds defined by the exception control, operated by the exception designer
If the active state is changed, then an event is generated.
The output consists of the active state, which is part of the scenario, and an event.
