Compressed form

Information compressing

The information of state variables may often be compressed to state sets by setting boundaries.

State sets are obtained  from continuous state variables by setting State boundaries

Range division

A discrete state variable is often a compressed form of a continuous state variables. It is defined by setting boundaries to the continuous variables.

Example

The ambient temperature may be defined as a discrete state variable, having three values:  cold, normal, or hot, according to a thresholds.
