Software hazard detectors

Software hazard detectors are software tools enabling detecting of violation of operational rules:

The recommended architecture ... includes three types of hazard detectors:

• A Scenario analyzer, checks if the different modes in the active scenario are compatible, according to the rules.
• A Situation analyzer, checks if the situation complies with the rules, and if the active state matches the corresponding selected mode
, checks if the events and subsequent state changes comply with the rules defining the operational procedures
• Gates, check if the operator's action complies with the operational rules.

The detection may be based on a data structure, consisting of thresholds for alarm generation, for indicating the grace time and for activating the control stations.
