Alarm situation

An alarm situation is an instance in the system operation in which the operational rules ( constraints) are being violated.

Examples

Transportation The machine can alert the driver/ pilot/ captain about objects that might hazard the vehicle, so that they can prepare to change the navigation course safely.
Medical monitors The monitors can calculate trends in critical parameters (blood pressure, pulse rate, PsO2, ...) and inform the medical team about the risk and the expected time remaining until the patient's situation turns critical.
Production systems The machine can calculate the changes in the production rate of critical components, and provide indications about time remaining to resume normal production.
Public alarms Alarm systems, such as those used to warn about environmental hazard, the alarm signals may encode information about the risks and about the grace time.
