Function

The activity Controller checks the situation of the functional unit is compliant with the rules that constrain the system operation, and reports to the functional unit and the alarm unit in case of infringement of these rules.

The activity controller should notify the alarm unit about actual risks.

The information included in the notifications should include indication about the risk level, the hazard, and pointers to recovery procedures.

Control

The unit is activated at:

• Events and sensor measurements generated at the functional unit
• Scenario change
• Situation change

Input

The input used for the information processing includes:

• The event and measurements
• The situation of the functional unit
• The effective scenario

Processing

The information processing includes:

• Checking if the event generated complies with the situation
• Computing trend data for the sensors
• Update the statistical parameters
• Checking the trace time and transition time
• Check the recovery time
• Notifying the alarm unit if the event generated does not comply with the rules

Output

Indication information is sent to the Alarm unit including:

• The current mode
• The event
• Hazard information (risk and urgency).
