Guidelines

This figure illustrates that the design should depend on the interaction style. In occasional interaction, such as in training or sales promotion, the cool design is appropriate. In continuous interaction, such as in routine or in recovery operation, modest design is more adequate.

• Use Cool design for training programs, sales promotion and alerts. Avoid it in screens intended for routine operation or that require the operator’s focus
• Modest design enables seamless, continuous operation. Use it in situations when the operators need to focus on what they see on screen.
