Sub units

• An analyzer receives all the events, identifies the exceptional events and reports about them to the alarm unit
• A recorder is used to record the events for off-line analysis when incidence investigation is required.

Control data

The system designers may use a rule editor to define the expected events, and store them in the activity knowledge base, for analysis at run-time.

Trigger

The functional unit should report to the events generated there. Each event should trigger an analysis session.

Input

The analyzer receives scenario and situation data from the scenario and situation knowledge bases. The data are used to decide if the event received is expected at the effective scenario and situation.

Data analysis

The decision about the exceptional event is by checking compliance with the rules stored in the activity knowledge base.

Output

The analyzer reports to the alarm units about the exceptional events.

The recorder is used by the incidence analyzer for investigation.
