The dilemma is about which visual cue to employ in the screen design.
There are several parameters to examine:
-
Primary visual cues are about the location, size and shape of screen and panel objects
-
Secondary visual cues are about the object images, colors and texture.
Guidelines
- Primary visual cues should be distinctive for
hazard detection and uniform in all other situations.
- Secondary visual cues should be distinctive in normal operation and uniform in all other situations.
