Boiler example

The boiler operational scenario (mode) is defined as either of { On, Off }

A boiler temperature is defined as either of:

• Warm - the boiler is operational ( 60⁰C < Temp < 65⁰C )
• Cold - the boiler is not ready for operation ( Temp < 60⁰C )
• Hot - the boiler temperature is too high, which is risky ( 65⁰C < Temp )

The boiler process is defined as either of:

• Heating
• Controlled (by a thermostat)
• Idle

The scope of normal situations consists of: { (On, Cold, Heating), (On, Warm, Controlled), (Off, not Hot, Idle) }

The scope of controlled situations consists of { (On, Hot, Idle), (On, not Hot, not Idle), (Off, any temp., Idle)}
