Functions
The Situation analyzer is in charge of keeping track of the
states and of
informing the other units of the
exception detector about changes in the
system
situation. The
functions of this unit are:
- Receives messages from the
system units and the
gates about changes in their states
- Tracks the states and their changes, according to the
situation
database
- Enables the
system units and the
operators to
access the states
when they need them
- Notifies the system units and
operators about
state changes.
Examples
- Torrey canyon : a
situation control can be used to set the actual steering
states, obtained from sensors, to generate
alarms when they sensed
steering does not match the steering mode
- TMI : a
situation control can be used to trace the
system
states, and to generate
alarms when they do not match the
scenario set by the
operators (by the
scenario
center).
