The questions of search style definition are:
What characterizes the situations in which visual search is better than interactive search and vice versa?
How do we decide about the best solution for a particular search problem?
The dilemma of search style is whether to apply a visual or interactive search for information.
Suppose a user may need to see the measurement of any of 70 sensors installed in the system. We can do it in various ways. Visual search is when all the 70 items are displayed on screen, while an interactive search means that the information is accessible by sorting and grouping or using keywords.
The dilemma is which search style is better for a particular search task.
