Operator-machine cooperation

Scenarios are used for operator-machine cooperation. Cooperation is possible if

• The scenarios are defined explicitly
• There is 1-1 correspondence between a list of scenarios and a list of modes.

The operator is coordinated with the machine whenever the active scenario corresponds to the active mode.

Example

  Many accident reports include descriptions of forgetting to re-enable a backup system after disabling it (often, violating safety rules) during routine operation.

  If a backup sub system may be closed for maintenance, but should never be closed in routine operation, then these constraints are expressed as follows:

• The Backup Open state is available in all normal operations scenario (including Routine and Maintenance operation Scenarios)
• The Backup Closed state is available in the Maintenance operation Scenario but not in the routine operation Scenario.
