Example

A navigation system may be normally operated either automatically or manually. In addition, in maintenance, it may be operated in a special 'idle' mode. The scenarios are defined as:

• Primary mode = { Normal navigation, Maintenance }
• Operational mode = { Automatic, Manual, Idle }

The scope of normal scenarios consists of: { [Normal navigation, Automatic], [Normal navigation, Manual] }

The scope of controlled scenarios consists of: {The scope of normal scenarios, [Maintenance, any operational mode] }
