Integration testing

Testing the system resilience-oriented architecture, to ensure that all the resilience features work as intended

Pre-requisites

To enable integration testing, the resilience-oriented architecture should be reliable. This means that all the system units, including those of the resilience features, are fully tested prior to the integration.

Purpose

The goal of integration testing is to ensure that all the system functions, including those related to resilience assurance, work as intended.

The resilience aspect of the integration testing is to verify that:

• The resilience-oriented architecture behaves as intended in routine, exceptional and exceptional situations, according to the rules
• The operators can tackle all exceptional situations, namely, that the resilience architecture features function as intended.

Method

Testing the resilience aspects relies on the infrastructure, consisting of implementation of the the resilience-oriented architecture.

Resilience-oriented Integration testing should include verification of the system response to all kinds of disturbances.

The test plan should include a plan for simulating various disturbances.
