Functional hazards

If the objective of the system is to alert about specific hazards, then these hazards are called functional hazards.

A functional hazard is due to an external trigger that motivates the system development and justifies the development costs. (for example, various alarm systems: medical monitors and public alarm generators about fire, environmental threats, intruders, etc.)
