Definition
Rebounding is the automatic response to a
hazard, returning the system automatically to
routine operation.
Examples of rebounding include:
- Automatic recovery from an intermittent power failure
- Automatic recovery from a
communication fault,
- Automatic cooling following overheat,
- Automatic pressure release from an overheated container,
- Automatic Break System (ABS)
- Automatic slowing down when driving in fog
- Automatic activation of a backup facility, such as a cooling pump
