Working memory

Working memory is a short-term memory buffer responsible for the transient holding, processing, and manipulation of information. Working memory is an important process for reasoning and the guidance of decision making and behavior. Its capacity is limited, imposing restrictions on parallel processing.

Implication to attention capability

The working memory limited capacity is linked with the ability to control (select or ignore) the information from the environment.
