Alerting

Different alerting method should be employed in different situations.

First time alerts

If the alert is about a first violation of a specific rule, the alert should be salient, using sound alarm to ensure that the operators are aware of it, and a visible, clear indication of the new occurrence.

Responding to an alert

Following examination and evaluation of the risks associated with the alert, the operators should attribute a risk score to the alert.

Repeating alerts

The display of repeating alerts should include signs marking the risk score and the time the alert was repeated.

If the risks core is high, repeating alerts should be accompanied by a sound alarm.
