Let us assume that the stakeholders are willing to consider taking the risk of occasional failure to detect faults in resilience-critical components, for the sake of reducing the system price. It is a good idea to provide them with an estimate about the risks of failure to detect a fault in a resilience-critical component.

where RDF (Rate of Detection Failure) = Sum (over the resilience add-ons) of RCDF (Rates of Component Detection Failure)
