Top-level classification of human errors

In cognitive engineering errors are associated with cognitive processes:

• Psychomotoric errors (errors in action)
• Attention-related errors (errors in intention).

Attributes

Incidences develop from hazards. Therefore, an error can be described by two attributes:

• A trigger: a fault that disturbed normal activity, generating a hazard
• A response: the activity since the hazard generation until the incidence.
