Reliable information perception

  To prevent confusion of information items, a separate display segment should be allocated to each item. If possible, it should not be shared with other items.

Facilitating information recognition

  If the display is limited in size, so that a common display unit should be shared, to display various items ( Display sharing ), then specific means should be designed to enable the operators to recognize the item being displayed .

Situation indication

Context-sensitive screens used in routine operation should provide special salient indication about context variables with exceptional values.
