Situation-dependent requirements

The operators' behavior and performance depend on the operational situation: normal operation, problem solving, emergency. This section describes the requirements about the situation-dependent interaction features:

• Information presentation ... - the method for information display should fit the operational situation.
• Access ... - the access to features should fit the operational situation.
• At the helm ... -  in exceptional and unexpected conditions the operator's role should change to supervision.
• Control visibility ... - the visibility of irrelevant controls should depend on the situation
• Navigation ... - different navigation styles are adequate to the four interaction modes: 
• Primary cues ... - primary visual cues should be chosen to fit the situation
• Similarity ... - similarity attributes should be considered with respect to the operational situation
• Look and feel ... - the interface visual style, which affects the user experience.
• Secondary cues ... - secondary visual cues should be chosen to fit the situation.
