This chart describes the information flow between the system developers.

A system architect generates a scenario knowledge base.  This knowledge base is used:

• By the system designers, to define the relationships between the operator's view ( scenario) and the machine view ( situation), stored in the situation knowledge base, the operational risks, and the Supervision knowledge base
• By the  cognitive engineers, to define the interaction protocols, stored in the activity knowledge base.

Independently of the definition above, the system designers generate lists of risks, and the means to detect and defend against them.

The resilience engineers then test the system behavior in exceptional situations, defined by the risks and deviations from the scenario, situation and activity databases.
