- In Routine operation
, the operators are familiar with the display, and therefore they can recognize graphical items quickly and precisely. Graphical
information presentation is not adequate for other situations, with which the operators are not familiar.
- When the hazard is still latent, the objective of the information presentation is to attract the operator's attention to the new risks. Preferred means to attract the operator's attention are by sound and
animation. In certain constellations, such as in driving, proprioceptive input may do the job best.
- When operating in unfamiliar situations (under hazard and under stress), the method for informing the operators about the situation is by (printed or audible) text.
